Naked Basics 2 - First Impression Review & Swatches

Hello beautiessss

"Personality begins where comparison ends."

Ladies, when your man walks up to you with a Sephora bag in hand, you know that he's done something right. Haha, I'm just slightly kidding ;P
When my boyfriend surprised me with this Naked Basics 2 palette the other day I was so thrilled and impressed. I've mentioned it to him that I wanted it so I can continue to have a complete collection of all the Naked palettes by Urban Decay, but it was one of those small mentions that I never thought he would even remember. So, you can imagine my utter shock and surprise when he surprised me with this. He told me that it was the last one in stock at the Sephora store so if I would suggest getting your hands on it when you have the chance if you really want it, because they are clearly running out fast. I am so happy and excited to finally try this out!

My first impression:
I have to say that when I first saw it in person, I was surprised to see how similar it really is to the first Naked Basics palette. However, one factor that I automatically prefer with the second basics palette over the first one is that all of these eyeshadows are matte. I have never owned an all matte eyeshadow palette so I am very excited, especially since this palette ranges from colours of light neutrals to dark colours. With that being said, this palette is going to make a great travel essential because you can create so many different looks with just this one small palette alone. Also, the eyeshadows are similar textures to the first one, which are creamy and blend-able. Overall, my first impression was a positive one.

However, to be completely honest, I am more excited to own this palette because I have a complete collection of all the Naked eyeshadow palettes rather than being excited of actually using it. Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to try out so many different looks with this but because it is so similar to the first naked basics palette, it just does not feel like I am trying something new. Also, this second basics palette consists of much cooler tone neutrals, which would be especially great for those who have hazel or green eyes whereas the first basics palette consists of warmer neutrals, which is better suited for someone with brown eyes, like me.

If you are debating whether to purchase this second basics palette because it looks very similar to the first one and if you're on a budget, then I would say do not rush to Sephora to buy it. However, if you're like me and wants to collect all of the Naked eyeshadow palettes just for the heck of it, then I would say it would be a great contribution to your collection :)

Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoyed!
